Support for Physical Education and SportSchools Sports Coordinator Programme is a national programme which has the key purpose of increasing sporting opportunities for young people. It helps schools provide coordinated physical education, school sport and out of hours learning activities. The programme links with existing local community sports facilities and sports development programmes.
The School Sport Co-Ordinators (SSCOs) coordinate activity in two Family of Schools each. A Family consists of a host Secondary school and up to six cluster Primary schools. All of Islington's primary, secondary and special schools are now involved in the partnership. To download the partnership's families of schools, click on the links to the right of this page. The SSCOs conduct Family meetings at least once a term with representatives from all Primary schools and the host Secondary school. The SSCOs also have Borough roles including different key sports and other developmental areas such as disability sport, equal opportunities, curriculum working parties, school sport associations and funding. |
