Partnership with Islington

Cambridge Education @ Islington works in partnership with the London Borough of Islington (LBI) to deliver high-quality services to support educational establishments across this culturally rich and diverse inner London borough.

Our aim is to work with a range of other stakeholders to promote school improvement and, in so doing, bring about a positive impact upon levels of pupil attainment, thereby improving the life-chances of all young people across Islington.

We are currently contracted by the LBI to provide support for its schools for seven years from April 2006. This follows a successful initial contract to provide such services, dating back to April 2000. At the time of writing (May 2010), these arrangements have helped to raise academic standards in the borough at all Key Stages – the pass rate for ‘good GCSEs’ in Islington schools, for example, having risen by almost 40% since the implementation of the initial contract.

We employ around 400 staff, based on five main sites within the borough, and deliver a wide range of services to schools, teachers, pupils, governors and the wider school community.
